About this course

Pet photography is about more than getting your subject to sit still – it’s about being ready for the moments that reveal who they are. In this beginner-friendly course, photographer Justin Veenema shares practical techniques for photographing dogs, cats and other pets with confidence.

You’ll explore camera and lens choices, responsive settings for pets in motion, intentional composition, and natural-light techniques for indoor and outdoor portraits. Justin also shares approachable tips for keeping sessions relaxed, earning a pet’s attention, and capturing the small expressions and behaviors that make every animal unique.

Whether you’re photographing your own pet or building foundational skills for client work, this course will help you stay present, anticipate the action and create photos worth keeping.
