Jason Lanier tests the new 100mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS
When the best laid plans get turned on their head by the elements, you have to go with it…and when you do you can get some spectacular results. Jason Lanier got the 100mm f/2.8 STF G Master OSS lens and he planned to test it in an outdoor shoot in San Diego’s Balboa Park. With a series of 100-year storms pelting Southern California, Lanier took advantage of the rain and the 100mm lens’ STF technology to create stunning images. He used the lens on his α7 II.
The new lens creates images that have both razor sharpness and beautiful, smooth bokeh. When used in the rain, the illuminated rain drops become perfectly-round highlights that look almost like glowing snow. In the video, Lanier also explains how he uses lights in a situation like this to get the best effect. Check it out and see why Lanier says “Wow…that’s awesome!”
