Our friends at PlayMemories have refreshed their site, and we thought it would be a great time to revisit their cool services.
First, PlayMemories Camera Apps, which are a game-changer for photographers. Just as we add functionality to our smartphones through apps, we can do the same for some cameras with PlayMemories. Sony Artisans Matt Kloskowski and Spencer Pablo have written extensively about how they use these apps to give them more in-camera control, and save processing time later, while still getting a RAW file at the end.
To get up to speed fast, Sony Artisan Colby Brown explains how to install and update PlayMemories apps on your camera. Check out the Matt Kloskowski used on his trip to Iceland. Another one of Matt’s favorites is Sky HDR, which works like a digital variable ND filter. Read Spencer Pablo's detailed write-up on how he uses Sky HDR.

Next, with PlayMemories Mobile you can transfer and review your shots on your smartphone or tablet in the moment. You can connect your compatible camera directly to your device, so whether you’re in the middle of a party or in the middle of wilderness, you’ll still be able to use it. You can also use your phone or tablet as a remote trigger, which comes in super handy when you use slow shutter speeds.
Then you can use PlayMemories Home to import your photos to your PC or Mac, and manage them or make quick edits and adjustments.
Lastly, PlayMemories Online offers you free unlimited storage (yes, you heard that right!) so you can organize your photos, create collections, and manage them all in one place.
Use one or use all, your photography life is going to be undoubtedly better.
