Sony Alpha Collab is a one-day immersive photography experience bringing together education, creativity, hands-on learning, and community. 

The event will take attendees inside the worlds of Nature + Wildlife, Portrait + Studio, and Sports photography, learning from accomplished local professionals through inspirational talks, live demonstrations, interactive shooting experiences, and engaging conversation. From capturing unpredictable wildlife and building a studio image from the ground up to anticipating the decisive moment on the sidelines, the day explores how working photographers approach very different creative challenges—and what photographers of any experience level can take from their process.

Attendees will have opportunities to learn from professionals, get behind the camera, experiment with Sony Alpha gear, and connect with Seattle’s creative community. Programming will include an exploration of the natural world, The Anatomy of a Portrait hands-on studio experience, and a closing sports photography panel focused on the stories and strategies behind capturing peak action. A dedicated Sony gear-loan station will give attendees the opportunity to get hands-on with a wide range of Sony Alpha cameras and lenses throughout the day.

Admission includes all educational sessions and hands-on experiences, morning coffee and pastries, lunch, and access to the Sony gear-loan station. Attendance will be intentionally limited to create an engaging environment with meaningful access to the educators, gear, and experiences throughout the day.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Sony Alpha Collab is for photographers who want to grow their skills, try something new, and see how working professionals approach the craft. Whether you’re just getting started, looking to take your photography to the next level, or already shooting professionally, there’s something to take away from each experience.

Come with a specific genre in mind or use the day to explore something completely outside your usual photography. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced photographers, ask questions, experiment with Sony Alpha gear, and get hands-on with real-world shooting scenarios—all in a welcoming environment built around creativity and community.

You don’t need to be a Sony shooter, and you don’t need to specialize in wildlife, portraits, or sports. Just bring your curiosity, your camera, and a willingness to try something new.

LOANER GEAR

Sony will have a selection of cameras & lenses available to use during the workshop.

Please make sure to bring your own as there are a limited amount of loaner gear and you may need to share throughout the workshop.
