Join Sony Artisan Gary Hart for a Eastern Sierra Fall Color Photo Workshop (Plus Mono Lake). With Mount Whitney and the Alabama Hills, the sawtooth Sierra crest, Mono Lake's tufa towers and pristine reflections, and the gnarled bristlecone pines of the White Mountains, California's Eastern Sierra region is as spectacular as it is diverse—in any season. In fall the Sierra's eastern slopes are blanketed with gold, creating a landscape that borders on visual overload.
Capturing this beauty at its peak requires a thorough knowledge of the region and the intricacies of its light. This workshop will put you in all the best places at the right times. We'll start in Lone Pine, where we'll photograph Mount Whitney at sunset and sunrise. Other highlights include Mono Lake at sunrise and sunset, sunset in the bristlecone pines of the White Mountains, and lots of fall color. And weather permitting, we'll enjoy at least one night photography shoot in the bristlecones.
The focus in all of my workshops is two-fold: to get you the best possible pictures, and to make you a better photographer. The emphasis is always on getting out in the field and shooting, but I always make time for training, both in the field and in the classroom. Training topics include composition, exposure and metering, and Photoshop and digital workflow. We will also have two image review sessions (always a highlight).
