Join landscape photographer, Matt Scobel for an interactive photography workshop broadcasted live on-location from one of the most iconic photo spots in Banff National Park, Sulphur Mountain. Standing at 2.2 km above sea level, Sulphur Mountain overlooks the Town of Banff, the Bow Valley, and 6 other peaks in Banff National Park. It’s the home to the Banff Gondola, a 1.6 km ride up the side of the mountain leading to a 1 km boardwalk featuring some of the best views in the Rockies.
Using the latest technology from Sony, this will be the first workshop of its kind to bring a remote audience “behind the camera” to experience a live landscape shoot from one of the most beautiful locations in Canada. With the unique combination of the new Sony A1 and the new Sony Xperia Pro 5G, the audience will see a live feed from a full-frame mirrorless camera streaming directly from the top of Sulfer Mountain.
Together we’ll scout our shooting location, evaluate shooting options, choose a composition, set up our camera for the conditions, and capture three stunning landscape images. Along the way, we’ll also be fielding questions from the live audience about the shoot itself and general questions about landscape photography in the Canadian Rockies.
