Join Sony Artisan Chris Burkard in Joshua Tree for a three-day intermediate workshop designed to elevate your storytelling—whether through photography, film, or writing. Surrounded by massive boulder fields, endless Joshua tree forests, and wide-open desert skies, you’ll explore how to craft stories that resonate. Mornings are spent outdoors on hands-on adventures like hiking, climbing, or cycling, capturing experiences and moments that feed into the creative process. Afternoons focus on group sessions, critiques, and 1-on-1 portfolio reviews with Chris and guest instructors, diving into topics like character development, pitching ideas, funding projects, and collaborating with brands or editors. Evenings feature guest talks, fireside conversations, and opportunities for astrophotography under some of the clearest desert skies.
This workshop is for creatives ready to push their craft further, connect with a supportive community, and build tools for meaningful, impactful work. All meals, lodging at Field Station Joshua Tree, and activity fees are included.
