In his review, “Sony FE 24-70 f/2.8 G Master Lens for Landscape Photographers” UK-based landscape photographer and blogger Richard Fox took the new 24-70mm G Master into the field for an in-depth hands-on review.
Landscape photographers can differ significantly from wedding, portrait and street photographers. For example, Fox notes the lens’ bokeh, but he doesn’t dwell on it compared to other factors. “Terms like Bokeh are perhaps less important to me (although I intend on using the wide apertures and Bokeh) and resolution, sharpness and contrasts being a tad more important.”
In the review, Fox shows a number of photos taken in conditions explicitly designed to test the lens. “All in all I’m more than happy with this lens. Already it’s becoming my go to lens for most of my work, only swapping them for when I need a wider, or more telephoto, focal length lens.”
