Brian Smith Field Tests The New G Master Lenses In New Orleans

As a Sony Artisan Of Imagery, Brian Smith was given the opportunity to get more than advance information about the new Sony G Master lenses...he was able to actually use the 85mm F1.4 GM and 24-70mm F2.8 GM to see how they would perform in real-world shooting situations. And as Smith says in his blog post, "Here’s the good news folks, they are real and they are SPECTACULAR!" 

Smith took the lenses to New Orleans and he used them on his Sony α7R II in a variety of situations. If there's one thing you can do as a photographer in New Orleans, it's find a variety of things to shoot. Take a look at the full collection of images that Smith posted and you'll notice not only the lens performance, you'll also see that he was able take full advantage of the low-light capability of the α7R II with the fast G Master lenses to shoot beautifully balanced portraits with available light...or in some cases, lightsaber light (what else would you expect the Krewe of Chewbacchus to have handy?).
