We named Territory NFP as a recipient of the Create Action Grant to support their mission of building better futures through design. As recipients of the Create Action Grant, Territory NFP receives $50,000 in cash to continue and expand the organization's work, $50,000 in Sony Electronics products to support their action plan, and this Sony-produced short film telling their story.
Territory NFP is a design-based creative youth development organization, providing skill building programs in urban design for young people ages 14-24, who want to reverse stereotypes and have a positive impact in the Austin neighborhood. Through intro and advanced design studios, young people work together to envision, design and build public art, community engaged planning and placemaking projects. They gain career skills and access to opportunities that can help them break the generational cycle of poverty that many Austin families are experiencing.
