In advance of the official launch of the new Sony Alpha α7C, a select group of Sony Artisans Of Imagery and the Sony Alpha Imaging Collective had the opportunity to take it for a test spin. See the photos, videos and insights below from Brian Smith (@briansmithphoto) Mic-Anthony Hay (@micanthony_), Miguel Quiles (@miguelquilesjr) and Quay Hu (@aroundq).

“I think street or travel photography and vlogging are going to be the main uses for this camera. For anyone who has been looking for a lot of α7 III functionality in a smaller package, this really addresses it. I think it’s the best-looking camera Sony has ever produced. Partly because the lines are just so clean. Sony has always made lenses that are very clean in their design, and I think this camera truly matches all of that.” – Brian Smith
"I used the new α7C to vlog and share the story behind where and how my passion and career in photography began. Ergonomically there are many things that I really liked. The texture on the grip has a premium feel to it. The shutter button placement is also pretty comfortable to reach, as is the record button for vlogging. Overall the camera has that "full-frame" rugged feel that inspired confidence that I could take this camera anywhere. The real magic to this camera is all of the small things that added up to make for an amazing experience. The size and weight of the camera combined with the full-frame look and the flip screen just make everything such a joy to use." – Miguel Quiles

"I used this camera to make some stills of the cityscapes I was filming. I was really impressed with the quality of the images. For a camera of this size to have a full-frame 24mp, back-illuminated sensor paired with the compact 28-60mm zoom lens, I had the versatility to make almost any shot I could think of, and that's a powerful feeling to have in your hands as a creator exploring the streets of NYC." – Mic-Anthony Hay

"I tested the new α7C for action sports (soccer), low light night images and astro. I used the small EVF during the soccer game and the LCD screen was good for the low light and night images. I love the small form factor and the new buttons that are similar to that of the α7R IV. The auto focus of the Alpha α7C was fast and I loved how well the focusing system worked in low light. That combined with the flip screen really helped me see my subjects better." – Quay Hu
