It might not make sense for everyone to carry two camera bodies, but for video creator Chris Brockhurst, it’s a must. His videos typically show him using a camera, so he needs one to use as a subject, and one to do the actual filming. He has settled on two reliable Sony Alpha cameras paired with two Sony lenses to be able to capture the different perspectives he needs for his video content. Watch as he dives into his setups for both stills and video to include in his content creation.
The Stills Setup
When you see Brockhurst’s videos, he’s typically filming himself as he uses the Sony Alpha 7C II. “This camera is a camera that obviously shoots photo and video, but I primarily use this just for shooting stills,” he explains. “I have it on a strap around my neck. It's just a really small setup that I enjoy shooting with.”
As for lenses he likes to use with the A7C II, you’ll usually see him with the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master II, or, perhaps as a surprise to some, the classic Sony 35mm f/2.8. “Now this is an older lens,” he explains, “but I really like the look that this lens has—and just the small form factor this whole kind of unit is.”
The Video Setup
His filming setup consists of the Sony FX3, usually paired with the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master II. “This is again a lens I can use for just a wide variety of things,” he explains. “When I’m not sure what it is I’m going to be shooting, this is my video setup that is going in my bag.”
