“As a photographer, I love capturing moments that reveal the hidden detail and tension in our natural world,” she says. “So, when I saw this vine's slow-motion, suffocating embrace of a young blossom in a neighbor's garden, I looked for a composition that would highlight the interaction. The nearly imperceptible struggle between flower and vine reminds us that nature can appear peaceful but seldom offers a break from the struggle to survive. I feel it also symbolizes those times in life when we seek to move, to grow, or to explore, but are held back by forces we don't fully perceive.”
