In the new Couples Photography course on Alpha Camera Academy, international wedding and portrait photographer Kesha Lambert shares her practical approach to creating portraits that feel relaxed, flattering, and personal. From the first conversation through the final frame, the Sony Artisan shows how a clear structure can help you stay present, responsive and creative during every session.

You’ll learn how to plan a session around the couple and their story, choose locations that support the look and experience you want to create, and work with the light and backgrounds already available to you. Kesha also covers camera settings for two-person portraits, lens selection, autofocus and tracking considerations, and ways to make technical adjustments without losing the connection in front of your camera.

The course also explores approachable ways to direct and pose couples. Using movement, conversation, and simple prompts, Kesha demonstrates how to give clients enough guidance to feel supported – without making the session feel overly posed. You’ll also see practical solutions for common challenges, including varying comfort levels, height differences, changing weather, busy environments and shifting light.
