PA Media Group Switches To The Sony Alpha System

Sony and PA Media Group, the largest press agency in the UK and Ireland, has announced a new partnership that will equip the agency’s over 90 staff photographers and video journalists with Sony cameras and lenses. “Sony's silent shutter, superb lenses and brilliant sensors, along with the relationship that we have built-up with them over the past few years made the switch an easy choice,” says Martin Keene, group picture editor at PA. The agency’s team provides images from key events throughout the year and Sony’s technology will allow their photographers and journalists to adapt and shoot in situations not possible before.

PA Media Group, the largest press agency in the UK & Ireland, is switching over to the Sony Alpha system.

The PA photographers and journalists will use the Sony FX3 in addition to Sony’s full-frame mirrorless Alpha camera series. The cameras will be paired with various Sony lenses, including G Master lenses like the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 135mm f/1.8 G Master and Sony 400mm f/2.8 G Master. Along with the equipment, Sony will provide regular training and support to the PA team.

“The partnership and on-going relationship will not only help us develop our camera system further but allow us to better serve their professional photographers and video journalists in future, giving them the opportunity to capture, transmit and deliver imagery in ways they never could before,” says Yasuo Baba, the director at Sony Europe.
