Patrick Murphy-Racey on "The Brick"

Battery power isn't the most alluring aspect of photography, but we all have to deal with it. In this video, Sony Artisan of Imagery Patrick Murphy-Racey shows an accessory that he relies on to stay powered up for a day of shooting stills or video. More than a simple charger, "The Brick" as he calls it, is one of the most useful accessories for any working photographer/videographer. It's a multi-function power station that charges up to four Sony Z-series batteries (batteries for the α9) at a time and it also plugs into the camera itself for dramatically-extended shooting time. "The Brick" can also be used to power cameras that take W-series batteries (α7-series and α6000-series cameras). Designed to be used on location, "The Brick" has several mounting options for attachment to your shooting rig. There are also USB ports that allow you to charge USB devices directly from "The Brick".

Note: it's not really called "The Brick", but that has more personality than Sony NPA-MQZ1K Multi Battery Adapter Kit, which is it's proper moniker.

See Patrick Murphy-Racey walk through all of the functions of this extremely useful device.
