The Gear
–Sony Alpha 7R V
–Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master II

The Sony Alpha 7R V is my go-to for photos, but I love that I can switch to video and still get exceptional quality, comparable to my A7S III or FX3. It makes it much easier when I need to rely on just one body for both photography and video.

Resolution is key. Whenever I'm shooting expansive landscapes, capturing small details, or focusing on textures, I prioritize resolution. Banff is a gold mine for all of these elements, making the Sony A7R V the perfect choice.

I also used the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 II G Master. The 24-70mm has been my go-to for years, especially when I know I’ll need to switch between landscape, wildlife and detail shots. It’s incredibly versatile for all of those situations.
The 24-70mm GM II's versatility is undeniable, but the second-generation of this lens also brought significant improvements to autofocus, which is fantastic for video.

The only accessory I use is a BlackRapid slinger, which is a lifesaver while hiking or navigating precarious areas. It helps keep my camera secure and easily accessible for quick shots.
