The Sony 20mm f/1.8 G lens is the widest full-frame prime lens in Sony’s E-mount lineup – giving users a new resource for stretching the boundaries of their artistic imaginations. The Digital Picture has already said, “This lens rocks,” and in a recent video posted by photographer Stefan Malloch, he takes a closer look by examining all aspects of the highly-recommended lens. See why he gave the lens 4/5 stars after examining its build, features, performance, optics and more.

“Looking at performance as a whole – a great little package Sony has put together. Incredibly sharp. It’s going to take whatever you throw at it.” – Stefan Malloch on the Sony 20mm f/1.8 G

“It has a few convenient features,” explains Malloch, “including a customizable focus hold button, an automatic manual focus switch, and a customizable aperture dial. Sony definitely kept video shooters in mind when they made this lens.”

“I’m happy to say that it’s quite good at almost everything. Its auto focus, which is basically silent, utilizes Sony’s XD linear focus motors for quiet and quick reliability.”

“Looking at performance as a whole – a great little package Sony has put together. Incredibly sharp. It’s going to take whatever you throw at it, and I give it four solid stars.”
