The Sony α7S III opens a new world of creativity for wedding filmmakers. There’s 15+ stops of dynamic range, in-body image stabilization with Active Mode, enhanced real-time Eye AF for video and dual-slot relay recording – just to name a few of the features a wedding filmmaker will find advantageous. In a recent video posted to Matt “Who Is Matt” Johnson’s YouTube Channel, you can see these features put to the test as the wedding filmmaker and reviewer puts the camera through its paces by using the new Alpha camera to film an entire wedding. See more of his experience with the camera below.
“This camera is, in one word: incredible.” – See more of what Matt Johnson had to say after filming an entire wedding with the Sony α7S III.
Beginning with establishing shots, Johnson takes the α7S III around the venue and landscape to capture footage of the scene.
“The dynamic range of the α7S III with these establishing shots is incredible. The sky is properly exposed. The shadows are properly exposed. The clouds are not overexposed. I’m shooting buildings, and I’m also getting clouds that aren’t overexposed? It looks SO good!”
He goes on to film the entire wedding, from prep to party, capturing all of the different moments and reactions of the day with the α7S III and a combination of the Sony 24mm f/1.4 G Master and Sony 24-105 f/4 G.
“This camera is, in one word: incredible. And I am so excited to film many more weddings with it in the future.”
