Mike Meyers – @mmeyers76
Alpha Collective member Mike Meyers had the chance to test drive the new Sony Alpha 1 II, and he paired it with the Sony 600mm f/4 G Master to create this image of the moon rising behind The Edge in Manhattan. “The trick to getting the moon to look so oversized is using a very long lens (in this case, the Sony 600mm F4 G Master) and putting as much distance as you can between you and the foreground object (in this case, The Edge). You’ll want to use the bracketing feature on the A1 II to make sure the foreground and moon are both properly exposed, and then combine the two or three shots later in edit. The new Alpha 1 II performed perfectly and I definitely appreciated the vertical flip screen while I framed up the shot!”
