Content creator and Sony Artisan Miguel Quiles shares some of his favorite gear for vlogging, portraits and more.
Bundled Setups For Vlogging
Vloggers and content creators rejoice! Sony has special pricing on all the gear you need to make your videos shine, and YouTuber Miguel Quiles says there’s no better time. Bundle up the Sony ZV-E10 with the ultra-compact Sony 10-20mm f/4 G PZ lens and save $50. Already have a camera and looking for a new lens? Quiles recommends checking out the Sony 24mm f/2.8 G or Sony 35mm f/1.4 G Master…both currently $100 off.
Ultra Compact G Series Primes For Portraits & More
Miguel Quiles fell in love with the Sony 24mm f/2.8 G, Sony 40mm f/2.5 G and Sony 50mm f/2.5 G immediately when they were first announced. After a photo shoot with the Sony Alpha 7R III and the Sony 50mm f/2.5 G, he was blown away by the results. “I think if you’re looking into getting a portrait lens that is small enough to take with you anywhere, or a high-resolution full-frame camera, now is the time to give it a closer look and see how much you can save.”
Sony Alpha 7R IV & Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master For Content Creators
For content creators who are just getting started in the game, Quiles without hesitation recommends the Sony Alpha 7R IV. “This full frame camera has pretty much everything that I need to film my content here on YouTube.” Add the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master lens to this camera, and you get cinematic video that gets you noticed.
Zooms Vs. Primes
When it comes to zoom lenses vs. prime lenses…which is best? For Quiles, he likes to use prime lenses like the Sony 24mm f/1.4 G Master as an everyday walkaround lens for stills and video. He’s also a huge fan of the Sony 50mm f/1.2 G Master as a prime option. If you’re more into zoom lenses, he recommends the Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master.
Level Up Your Photography With This Setup
Many of Quiles’ favorite portraits he’s ever taken were with the Sony Alpha 7 III camera. “It was the camera that redefined what a so-called ‘basic’ camera could do. And it’s still a beast of a camera to this very day.” Paired up with the Sony 24-105mm f/4 G, Quiles says he can capture anything that comes his way.
All-Star Portrait Lenses
If Quiles were to put together a team of all-star lenses for his portrait kit, there are three in particular that would definitely make his starting lineup: the Sony 55mm f/1.8, Sony 90mm f/2.8 Macro G and Sony 24-105mm f/4 G. Watch to learn more about why these are his top choices.
