The newly announced Sony α7C presents creators with full-frame image quality, advanced autofocus and versatile video shooting – all wrapped up in an incredibly light and compact design. In this video, watch as Sony Artisan Miguel Quiles walks us through the design and features of the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame camera body.
Sony Artisan Miguel Quiles walks us through the design & features of the new Sony α7C.
“For starters, the α7C is very close to the size of Sony’s popular APS-C line of cameras, but with a full-frame 24MP sensor. This is the same sensor that you’ll find in the beloved α7 III, but with the BIONZ X processor from the α7R IV. Thanks to the processor you can enjoy enhancements like Real Time AF Tracking as well as Real Time Eye AF for humans and animals.”
The new α7C also comes with Sony’s updated color science that people have been raving about from cameras like the α9 II and α7R IV.
“Unlike those cameras, you now have a flip screen,” explains Quiles, “which is great for vloggers and content creators, or really anyone who is looking to get a creative angle with their shots. Speaking of vloggers and content creators, you’ll be pleased to see that there’s no time limit to your HD and your 4K recordings. And you’re able to maximize the dynamic range of your video using picture profiles like S-LOG and HLG.”
“The α7C will be available in two different color options, and will have the option of coming with their new kit lens, the Sony 28-60mm f/4-5.6 lens. This new lens is the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame standard zoom lens, weighing in at only 167 grams. It features a seven-blade circular aperture, three aspherical lens elements and a linear focus motor for fast, precise, and more importantly, silent autofocus. Pairing this new lens with the α7C gives you this beautifully lightweight and compact full-frame kit that you’re going to want to take with you everywhere.”
