We are excited to announce Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory as the recipient of a Sony Create Action Grant and the first nonprofit to kick off our third year of the Create Action initiative. Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory exists to introduce pathways to careers and workforce development in film, art and digital media for communities who have most historically denied these opportunities. As winners of the grant, the organization will receive $50,000 in cash to continue and expand their work, a custom short film telling their story, $50,000 in Sony Electronics products to support their action plan, and collaboration and partnership with Sony.

Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory supports and advocates for developing an intentional framework toward diversity in the creative arts, media and technology fields – and one that is socially and economically inclusive and accurately reflects Los Angeles County regarding ethnicity, gender and age. Their work strives to dismantle the many barriers to equal opportunities in the arts and creative industries so those interested in pursuing such careers can truly grow and thrive.
