Earlier this year we announced The Alliance98 as the winner of a Sony Create Action grant. The Chicago-based nonprofit tackles unemployment by providing young adults with meaningful career development. As recipients of the grant, The Alliance98 receives $50,000 in cash to continue and expand the organization's work, $50,000 in Sony Electronics products to support their action plan, and this Sony-produced short film telling their story.

Serving Chicago-area youth of color ages 16-24, The Alliance98 offers programs to help them hone in on their interests through projects and events that utilize their creative skills. They provide coaching and the safe space necessary for youth to further explore their passions and identities.
Their flagship program Suited For A Cause has been in operation for four years now and focuses on assisting young adults in tailoring their own education and careers, providing them with 21st century skills through an eight-week personal and professional development training. Through this program and other initiatives, The Alliance98 continues to create opportunities to equip historically marginalized communities and invest resources needed for young adults to have the support systems required to be global productive citizens.
