Jake Chamseddine – @jakechams
Concert photographer Jake Chamseddine had the chance to try out the Sony Alpha 9 III at Sony Creative Space, and in this video he recaps his thoughts on using it for his work and shares that he’ll be adding it to his Christmas wish list. “The thing that makes it so special is that it has a global shutter, which essentially means there’s no more banding in concert photos,” he explains. “I won’t have to worry about my flash not syncing. It shoots 120 frames-per-second images and it also shoots a second before you take a photo, so before you take a photo it’s already capturing!”
Aleksandra Szmigiel – @runningcreatives
Award-winning photojournalist Aleksandra Szmigiel is known for her sports photography. Here she shows off the new pre-capture option in the Sony Alpha 9 III, which will now make covering sports like archery even easier for her. And here you can see just how compact the design is as he shows how it fits perfectly into his Nanuk 30 bag.
Brad Deel – @braddeelphoto
Sports and portrait photographer Brad Deel used the Sony Alpha 9 III to snap these action shots. After shooting all day with the camera, he says “Sony completely changed the game. Global shutter. Now what does that mean? For those of us who shoot flash, what that means is no longer do we need high speed sync. It does not matter, it makes no difference, you will never need high speed sync again. Put your flash at whatever you want it to be and that’s it. You can shoot all the way up to 1/80000-sec. With flash? That’s insane. Sony’s completely changed the game. 24 megapixels. No more banding. No more rolling shutter. All that’s gone. It’s over.”
Mickey Pierre-Louis – @itchyeyephotos
Mickey Pierre-Louis used the Sony Alpha 9 III at Sony Creative Space, and you wouldn’t believe the images she was able to capture. “Every shot was crisp - it froze the raindrops!” Check out the beautiful bokeh-filled images she created below.
Toby Gelston – @photorectoby
Toby Gelston was able to use the new Sony Alpha 9 III paired with the new Sony 300mm f/2.8 G Master to capture the action shots below. “The Alpha 9 III has a global shutter, truly groundbreaking. It offers 120fps plus pre-capture (the camera is taking photos continuously while you half press the shutter and when you fully press it will save the preceding second or less burst). This makes it ridiculously easy to capture those moments.”
Dunna – @dunnadidit
Video creator Dunna takes a look at the new Sony 300mm f/2.8 G Master, and here he explains the rear lens feature that he thinks hasn’t gotten enough attention yet. “One thing that they didn’t talk about when they were announcing the 300mm, is there’s actually a lens filter in the back of the lens. So you push this in, and you pull this out, and so you can put an ND filter or CPL in there.” He also explains how you can use any 40.5mm filter in it, something he hasn’t seen in other Sony glass before.
Lee Zavitz – @leezavits
Creator and reviewer Lee Zavitz also got to test out the new Sony Alpha 9 III, and in this video he shows how you can shoot in Turbo Mode. “I have it in regular low continuous, and then when I push the C5 Custom Button, it will go into Turbo Mode.” This allows you to override the burst rate and jump directly to shooting 120 fps.
