The Imaging Alliance, formerly, the PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association, in conjunction with PDN magazine is proud to salute three professional photographers and one student photographer who have used their talents and passions to give back and heighten awareness through the power of imaging.
Sony Artisan Of Imagery Cristina Mittermeier uses her passion for photography to influence the fate of our planet’s natural resources. She is the founder of the prestigious International League of Conservation Photographers, a consortium of some of the best photographers on the planet who are actively working for conservation. Today, Cristina heads the newly founded organization Sea Legacy, whose mission is to use the power of photography to promote the protection of our oceans.
The annual event will feature presentations by honorees Rick Guidotti, Cristina Mittermeier and Ami Vitale followed by a short Q&A from the audience. After the theatre portion of the evening, all in attendance will be invited to the networking cocktail reception in the lobby.
In addition, Marilena Stavrakidi, a recent SVA graduate who has demonstrated her use of photography to educate and create awareness will be awarded the Anthony M. Ruotolo Photojournalism Award.
