Kristin Atwood is a chef turned filmmaker and past winner of an Alpha Female+ grant. During her workshop at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST, she will take you behind the scenes for her grant-winning project, Flight Of The Bumblebees. If you’re thinking about applying for an Alpha Female+ grant, this is a great opportunity to ask a past winner questions and see how her project came to life.
Ira Block – @irablockphoto
National Geographic photographer and Sony Artisan Ira Block knows how important it is to be unobtrusive when traveling and documenting. During his workshop at 6:30 PM EST / 3:30 PM PST, he will explain the advantages of working with a compact camera system. Learn how he uses the new 24mm, 40mm and 50mm lenses in combination with the Sony Alpha 7C for a small, fast and sharp setup.
Colby Brown – @colbybrownphotography
Photographer and Sony Artisan Colby Brown recently took the Sony Xperia 1 III to Alaska to see just how much he could push his creative limits with the new device. In his workshop at 12:30 PM EST / 9:30 AM PST, he will share some of his favorite features and how he’s been able to integrate it with his current gear setup as a Sony Alpha shooter. During his workshop at 2:30 PM EST / 11:30 AM PST, he and Sony Artisan Colby Brown will discuss their experience trading spaces, from wildlife to weddings. Join to hear what Jermaine has to say about stepping outside of his comfort zone to photograph wildlife in a remote part of Alaska.
Steve “Sweatpants” Irby – @stevesweatpants
Steve “Sweatpants” Irby is a street photographer and member of the Alpha Collective. His ability to adapt to multiple situations helps him create compelling images that empower his subjects. During his interactive live shoot at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST, he will walk through some of his techniques for documenting everyday people that do extraordinary things.
Drew Geraci – @drewgiggity
Sony Artisan Drew Geraci is a cinematographer and timelapse photographer who has a love for light. If you’ve seen his YouTube videos, you’ve probably witnessed the dynamic lighting that takes a simple studio set to the next level. During #BeAlpha Live Online he will lead a live and interactive photo shoot at 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST on creating vivid lighting scenes for photo and video with constant lighting. Join this session geared toward shooters who are filming for interviews, YouTube channels, video portraits and headshots from their home or small office studios.
Pierre T. Lambert – @pierretlambert
Digital creator Pierre T. Lambert creates compelling photos and videos using an arsenal of Sony Alpha gear. In his first workshop at 12:30 PM EST / 9:30 AM PST, he will share which gear to pack so you can create vlogs effortlessly and maximize your creativity. Later in the day at 5:30 PM EST / 2:30 PM PST, he will discuss the impact of lenses on your street photography. Photographer, filmmaker and Sony Artisan David McLain has shot major assignments around the world. Learn more about his creative process during his workshop, "Two Filmmakers, Two Coasts, One Lens," at 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST, where he will be joined by Sony Artisan Ben Moon in a live discussion about the short films they shot entirely on the Sony 35mm f/1.4 G Master lens near their homes in Oregon and Maine.

Photographer and Alpha Collective member Rachel Jones Ross uses her Sony Alpha gear to capture otherworldly wide-angle astro landscapes. During her workshop at 1:30 PM EST / 10:30 AM PST, she will discuss her tools of the trade for creating those images. Join as she will share her approach to photographing night skies over grand landscapes, including tips and tricks for shooting in any low-light situation.

Monica Sigmon is a professional portrait photographer and Sony Artisan. An excellent educator and speaker, she will lead both a live shoot and workshop during the event. Landscape photographer and Alpha Collective member Mahesh Thapa creates mesmerizing landscape images using his Sony Alpha system. During his workshop at 1:30 PM EST / 10:30 AM PST, learn more about how he’s incorporated the Sony Xperia 1 III in his landscape photography kit. In addition to fundamental techniques, the class will also focus on supplementary equipment such as filters, tripods and other key accessories.

He’s a judge for this year’s Sony Vlog Challenge Contest, and you can catch him at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST as he joins a panel featuring other vlogging experts and judges. The panel will discuss all things vlogging, including their top skills for vloggers, what it takes to run a successful vlog, and how you can make the most of vlogging opportunities.

Jose Villa is a fine art wedding photographer and Sony Artisan. During his workshop at 11:30 AM EST / 8:30 AM PST, he will talk about the magic of the Sony 50mm f/1.2 G Master for wedding photography. Join as he will break down all the parts of a wedding where he reaches for the 50mm lens. Along the way you’ll learn why it’s a go-to lens for wedding photography, and get some insight with some never-before-seen images into just how special the 50mm GM is.
