Kristin Atwood – @chefstudiochrissy

Kristin Atwood is a chef turned filmmaker and past winner of an Alpha Female+ grant. During her workshop at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST, she will take you behind the scenes for her grant-winning project, Flight Of The Bumblebees. If you’re thinking about applying for an Alpha Female+ grant, this is a great opportunity to ask a past winner questions and see how her project came to life.

Ira Block – @irablockphoto

National Geographic photographer and Sony Artisan Ira Block knows how important it is to be unobtrusive when traveling and documenting. During his workshop at 6:30 PM EST / 3:30 PM PST, he will explain the advantages of working with a compact camera system. Learn how he uses the new 24mm, 40mm and 50mm lenses in combination with the Sony Alpha 7C for a small, fast and sharp setup.

Colby Brown – @colbybrownphotography

Photographer and Sony Artisan Colby Brown recently took the Sony Xperia 1 III to Alaska to see just how much he could push his creative limits with the new device. In his workshop at 12:30 PM EST / 9:30 AM PST, he will share some of his favorite features and how he’s been able to integrate it with his current gear setup as a Sony Alpha shooter. Catch Colby again at 2:30 PM EST / 11:30 AM PST for his live discussion with Sony Artisan Jermaine Horton about their latest video series where they took turns swapping photography roles.

Elizabeth Cayouette – @cayouettemedia

Elizabeth Cayouette is a director, videographer, editor and past Alpha Female+ grant winner. She will be giving us 10 tips and tricks for shooting commercial video during her workshop at 5:30 PM EST / 2:30 PM PST. Join as she shares her experience as lead videographer & editor for Aerie by American Eagle and show you how to make impactful videos.

Sidney Diongzon – @sidneydiongzon

Sidney Diongzon is a YouTube content creator and judge for the Sony Vlog Challenge Contest. You can see his workshop on Vlogging 101 with the Sony EV-10 at 11:30 AM EST / 8:30 AM PST. From planning to filming to editing, he is going to cover the basics and best practices of vlogging your life. Catch him again at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST for the “What Makes A Great Vlog? panel, featuring other judges for the Sony Vlog Challenge Contest.

Jessica Hirsch – @cheatdayeats

If you haven’t seen Jessica Hirsch’s dynamic food photography and videography, you’re missing out on some mouthwatering meals. Join the Alpha Collective member at 5:30 PM EST / 2:30 PM PST for a live shoot where she will share all the tips, tricks and tools you need for capturing all your cheat day-worthy content. Jermaine Horton – @jermainehortonphotography

Sony Artisan Jermaine Horton is a professional wedding photographer, but at #BeAlpha Live Online you’ll get to see him take a stab at a different type of photography. During his workshop at 2:30 PM EST / 11:30 AM PST, he and Sony Artisan Colby Brown will discuss their experience trading spaces, from wildlife to weddings. Join to hear what Jermaine has to say about stepping outside of his comfort zone to photograph wildlife in a remote part of Alaska.

Steve “Sweatpants” Irby – @stevesweatpants

Steve “Sweatpants” Irby is a street photographer and member of the Alpha Collective. His ability to adapt to multiple situations helps him create compelling images that empower his subjects. During his interactive live shoot at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST, he will walk through some of his techniques for documenting everyday people that do extraordinary things.

Drew Geraci – @drewgiggity

Sony Artisan Drew Geraci is a cinematographer and timelapse photographer who has a love for light. If you’ve seen his YouTube videos, you’ve probably witnessed the dynamic lighting that takes a simple studio set to the next level. During #BeAlpha Live Online he will lead a live and interactive photo shoot at 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST on creating vivid lighting scenes for photo and video with constant lighting. Join this session geared toward shooters who are filming for interviews, YouTube channels, video portraits and headshots from their home or small office studios.

Pierre T. Lambert – @pierretlambert

Digital creator Pierre T. Lambert creates compelling photos and videos using an arsenal of Sony Alpha gear. In his first workshop at 12:30 PM EST / 9:30 AM PST, he will share which gear to pack so you can create vlogs effortlessly and maximize your creativity. Later in the day at 5:30 PM EST / 2:30 PM PST, he will discuss the impact of lenses on your street photography. Join as he covers which focal length to use for what purpose, what impact each has on the art and which lenses he chooses as his favorites.

David McLain – @mclain.david

Photographer, filmmaker and Sony Artisan David McLain has shot major assignments around the world. Learn more about his creative process during his workshop, "Two Filmmakers, Two Coasts, One Lens," at 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST, where he will be joined by Sony Artisan Ben Moon in a live discussion about the short films they shot entirely on the Sony 35mm f/1.4 G Master lens near their homes in Oregon and Maine.

Cristina Mittermeier – @mitty

Conservation photographer and Sony Artisan Cristina Mittermeier is the co-founder of SeaLegacy, a conservation collective of experienced storytellers dedicated to protecting our oceans. During her workshop at 6:30 PM EST / 3:30 PM PST, she will share more about her voyage to save the world, and how you can hop aboard to help.

Ben Moon – @ben_moon

Photographer, filmmaker and Sony Artisan Ben Moon finds it liberating to be limited to a single camera and lens setup, so he can focus on creativity without being hampered by gear decisions or a large crew. At 2:30 PM EST / 11:30 AM PST, join his workshop to learn the exact process he’s used to grow his audience to over 100,000 subscribers. You’ll learn everything from the gear he uses, settings, and approach that you can use to get started right away and grow your own audience.

Rachel Jones Ross – @rachel_jones_ross

Photographer and Alpha Collective member Rachel Jones Ross uses her Sony Alpha gear to capture otherworldly wide-angle astro landscapes. During her workshop at 1:30 PM EST / 10:30 AM PST, she will discuss her tools of the trade for creating those images. Join as she will share her approach to photographing night skies over grand landscapes, including tips and tricks for shooting in any low-light situation.

Monica Sigmon – @monicasigmon

Monica Sigmon is a professional portrait photographer and Sony Artisan. An excellent educator and speaker, she will lead both a live shoot and workshop during the event. First up is her interactive photo shoot at 1:30 PM EST / 10:30 AM PST, where she will show how to put a modern twist on the classics. Watch as she brings a fresh perspective to classical portraiture with lighting and posing techniques, and more. Join her later in the day at 4:30 PM EST / 1:30 PM PST for her workshop where she will share a behind-the-scenes look at her most recent self-assignment: Art of Motion. From inspiration to implementation, discover the fundamentals of bringing a successful creative project to life. 

Brian Smith – @briansmithphoto

Brian Smith is a Pulitzer Prize-winning professional portrait photographer and Sony Artisan. He’s photographed celebrities, athletes and more, and you can tune in at 11:30 AM EST / 8:30 AM PST to soak in some of his expert knowledge on portrait lighting. Watch as he will show you quick and simple ways to create beautiful light to showcase your subject and make your portraits stand out.

Mahesh Thapa – @starvingphotographer

Landscape photographer and Alpha Collective member Mahesh Thapa creates mesmerizing landscape images using his Sony Alpha system. During his workshop at 1:30 PM EST / 10:30 AM PST, learn more about how he’s incorporated the Sony Xperia 1 III in his landscape photography kit. In addition to fundamental techniques, the class will also focus on supplementary equipment such as filters, tripods and other key accessories.

Terry Warfield – @terry_warfield

Terry Warfield is a vlogger who focuses on gear and motivational content. He’s a judge for this year’s Sony Vlog Challenge Contest, and you can catch him at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST as he joins a panel featuring other vlogging experts and judges. The panel will discuss all things vlogging, including their top skills for vloggers, what it takes to run a successful vlog, and how you can make the most of vlogging opportunities.

Jose Villa – @josevilla

Jose Villa is a fine art wedding photographer and Sony Artisan. During his workshop at 11:30 AM EST / 8:30 AM PST, he will talk about the magic of the Sony 50mm f/1.2 G Master for wedding photography. Join as he will break down all the parts of a wedding where he reaches for the 50mm lens. Along the way you’ll learn why it’s a go-to lens for wedding photography, and get some insight with some never-before-seen images into just how special the 50mm GM is.

Jake Viramontez – @jakeviramontez

Jake Viramontez is the founder of @freeexposure_, a producer of no-cost, high-quality films for nonprofits to use for fundraising and awareness raising. He’s been using storytelling for social good for over 15 years and at 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST you can tune into his workshop where he shares how you can do it too. A few topics he will cover range from creating cinematic content as a one-man band, making the journey from videographer to filmmaker, prioritizing substance over style, and how to create films that move people to action.

Kristen Sarah & Siya Zarrabi – @hopscotchtheglobe

Kristen Sarah of the Alpha Collective and Siya Zarrabi are a vlogging duo currently living life in an Airstream trailer. They’re judges for this year’s Sony Vlog Challenge Contest, and you can catch them and the other judges at 3:30 PM EST / 12:30 PM PST for a live panel discussion on what makes a great vlog.
