Sony Artisans of Imagery Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen along with the rest of the crew have now been aboard SeaLegacy 1 for a year and a half. "Some people plan trips and they know that they're going to go from A to B, and they know which road they're going to travel," explains Mittermeier. "A voyage, really, is a leap of faith into the unknown." In Episode 8 of SeaLegacy | The Voyage, Mittermeier and Nicklen reflect on their journey into the unknown thus far.
Sony Artisans of Imagery Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen reflect on their journey so far aboard SeaLegacy 1 and the conservation heroes they've met along the way.
"We set sail a year and a half ago from the East Coast of the U.S.," says Nicklen. "Everywhere we went from the Bahamas, to Panama, to the Galapagos to now Mexico, we're just following dots on a map to help chase conservation winds."
As they've chased those conservation winds, they've also collaborated with many other conservation heroes along the way. "It is people that make the story," explains Mittermeier, "and when you meet somebody that has an incredible story, all you have to do is follow it. The planet is full of heroes. Individual efforts happening in all of these communities. People that are doing their share."
