The Unbox Therapy YouTube Channel creates and posts videos showcasing the coolest products on the planet. The videos are incredibly popular, with their channel gaining over 18 million followers. In their latest video hosted by Lewis Hilsenteger, not only do they showcase the Sony Alpha 1 and feature its 8K footage, but they also announce their production’s full switch to exclusively using Sony Alpha 1 cameras to create their videos.
Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy takes an in-depth look at the Sony Alpha 1 and explains why their studio has switched to shooting exclusively with the camera.
“This is the Sony Alpha 1,” explains Hilsenteger. “It is sort of the holy grail of cameras for YouTubers at the moment, at least from my point of view. I’ve been using Sony stuff for awhile now, and it has only continued to improve and increase its lead in the space.”
In the video he unboxes the Sony Alpha 1, examining each part of the camera and everything that comes with it. He also shows how they use an Xperia smartphone as a monitor for filming, as well as the wide variety of lenses they use for multi-angle shots, including the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 12-24mm f/2.8 G Master, Sony 20mm f/1.8 G, Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master and the Sony 90mm f/2.8 Macro G.
“I can’t think of a better setup for us right now. The way we like to utilize having a bunch of cameras. The slenderness of each one. The usability of each one. The workability of the file format. This has just made life a lot easier. So far so good as far as the Alpha 1 is concerned.”
