Photography is about light, without controlling and understanding how light works making great photos on demand becomes much more difficult, if not impossible. Pro photographer, and Sony Artisan Tony Gale will be demonstrating basic lighting theory and how to light a model, starting with a single light source, then adding more light to better control your environment and make the photos you want. Tony will cover the importance of lighting your subject and background separately, how to add fill, edge lights and more.
Good photography starts with a single strobe, but great photography occurs with multiple strobes. After Tony provides you with the theory and the confidence to light with professional skill, put what you learned to practice with Bowens lighting on a hands on model shoot. Attendees are encouraged to bring their DSLR with a portrait lens and make some photographs in the Event Space converted studio. This seminar will begin with a class room style lighting demonstration for the first half, then we will open up the space for the second hands on portion.
