How I Got the Shot
This photo is of my youngest dog D'artagnan who is a mix of a French Bulldog and a English Staffordshire Bull Terrier. D loves to be photographed. Whenever I pull out my camera he perks up from whatever he is doing and follows me around. This photograph was taken right before Christmas 2015; we were gathering photos for our annual holiday card that includes our pups. I pulled out the camera and the reindeer antlers and D jumped in his "photo chair" and waited for his close-up.
What I love about photographing D'artagnan is that he is always good about making direct eye contact with the lens, with little to no direction. I love this shot because he looks like such a serious little reindeer in front of the camera but in reality he is a crazy, energetic, and funny little goofball!
