Professional safari guide Rowan Poortier captured this footage of a lion in South Africa using his Sony Alpha 7 IV and Sony 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G lens. "To have the best chance of filming a lion roaring you need to find the lions at dusk or dawn when the lions are at their most active,” he says. “Try to position yourself in front of the subject (the lion) to get a better view of all the facial features as he roars. Using Sony’s Alpha 7 IV is perfect as it has animal eye tracking and will keep your subject in focus giving you a much clearer and more detailed video."
