The Sony α6500 and α99 II have taken the photography world by storm. The pair of unexpected cameras, one introduced in September at the Photokina Expo in Germany and the other in a surprise announcement in early October arrived with impressive lists of features innovations and specs.

Using the cameras and seeing the pictures is where the rubber meets the road, and in November a group of journalists were invited to try the new Sony interchangeable lens cameras. Shooting at venues in and around Austin, Texas, the journalists had a chance to push the new α6500, α99 II as well as the new RX100 V along with a broad selection of Sony lenses in several fast-action indoor and outdoor sports and low-light scenarios.
