In October of 2021 we announced The Firehouse Dream as a recipient of the Sony Create Action Grant. Based in Maywood, Illinois, The Firehouse Dream is a creative arts nonprofit that connects young adults to a safe space to discover creative skill sets and be equipped with the tools needed in order to thrive in every area of their lives. As recipients of the grant, the nonprofit receives $50,000 in cash to continue and expand the organization's work, this Sony-produced short film telling their story and $50,000 in Sony Electronics products to support their action plan.

The Firehouse Dream provides mentorship programs in film, photography, social media strategy and brand identity. They also hold financial wellness and resume and narrative writing workshops within communities that identify as BIPOC located in the Proviso District and Chicago, helping those in the community become equipped with the tools they need to thrive.

The Create Action Grant Program is open through March 29, 2022 and will provide grants to 10 organizations total, with one new grant awarded each month.
