2. Select and Pack Gear:
As Katrin mentions in the video above, it's all about packing light...but you of course still want to be prepared. The types of photography you'll be doing on your travels will help determine your gear. Check out some gear ideas below to help plan your travel photography kit:

Tripod: The best tripods for travel photography balance weight and stability, which is especially important if you'll be hiking or traveling long distances. Adventure photographer and glacier guide Tori Harp prefers the Carbon Fiber Peak Design Tripod. "For nights out shooting astrophotography I use this tripod which always gets the job done. Filters: Ensure you have the necessary filters, such as polarizing filters for enhancing skies and reducing reflections, ND filters for long exposures, and UV filters for lens protection. Alpha Collective member Vince Lim brings a variety of them to cover everything he wants to shoot. "Depending on the situation and what I’m shooting, I use both drop-in and screw-on filters. Since I’m often by the water, I always bring a circular polarizer to reduce glare. I’ve been really enjoying halation filters, like the Black Pro Mist, which diffuse light for a unique effect. Flash and Lighting Equipment: Pack external flashes, reflectors, and diffusers. Consider portable lighting solutions if you'll be shooting in low-light environments. Chargers and Cables: Pack all necessary chargers and cables for your devices.
Laptop, Phone or Tablet: For editing on the go, if needed.
3. Check and Maintain Equipment:
Clean Gear: Thoroughly clean your camera lenses and sensors to avoid any unwanted spots in your images.

6. Insurance and Documentation:
Insurance: Ensure all your photography equipment is covered by insurance that includes travel protection.
Documentation: Keep a detailed list of your gear, including serial numbers, in case of loss or theft.
Permits and Licenses: Don't forget to obtain any permits required for photography at your destination.
7. Backup and Data Management:
