Camera
Sony Alpha 6700: The Sony Alpha 6700 is my second Sony camera I’ve ever bought. After getting started with an Alpha 6000 I decided to upgrade earlier this year. The Alpha 6700 is a godsend when it comes to street photography. Not only can I switch focus points quickly via the touchscreen, I also like shooting in the High+ feature from time to time to get a shot just right. Plus the movable screen makes it easy to still get a good shot of my subject, even if I’m crawling around on the ground. It’s a great hybrid for pictures and video, excellent to bring along on longer trips. It’s also really lightweight, which is a must in gear for me!

“I took this photo a couple of days ago in Porto, next to the Ponte Dom Luís I. I was listening to a live-band when I turned around and saw this man enjoying their music as well.” Photo by Lina Staudt. Sony Alpha 6700. Sony 18-105 mm f/4 G. 1/640-sec., f/4, ISO 8000
Lenses
Sony 18-105 mm f/4 G: I’ve started my photography journey using zoom lenses and when I’m traveling this lens is my favorite thing to bring with me. It is my go-to for shooting and I love it for the flexibility it offers me, all while being lightweight and easy to handle. It allows me to capture bigger scenes and intricate details during my street photography shoots. While zooming in I can capture special moments without disturbing the individuals in order to create authentic pictures.
“This photo was taken last September in Paris. A kid was practicing his three pointers during the evening and was getting really good!” Photo by Lina Staudt. Sony Alpha 6000. Sony 18-105mm f/4 G. 1/640-sec., f/4, ISO 160
Sony 85mm f/1.8: The 85mm is my favorite lens to use for night shots and the occasional portrait on the street. While it gives me the ability to stay anonymous, I can get close shots from my subject with a nicely compressed background. Its sharpness and bokeh were a huge selling point when deciding to get it. Additionally, its fast aperture allows me to capture low-light scenes with clarity and depth.

Accessories
Spare Memory Card and Battery: Whenever I get the chance to go out and shoot for a full day I’ll gladly take it. Having these on hand will prevent me from worrying about needing to conserve battery life or missing out on photos.
Sennheiser Headphones: Whenever I’m out I like to get into a productive and happy mood by listening to Rock/Alternative Music.
Camera Strap: When I’m exploring new regions I want to have the possibility to switch from my phone to my camera quickly, which is much easier to do with this new Camera Strap.
“My dad, boyfriend and I were visiting a street festival in Paris, when I noticed a kid throwing a tantrum. The father then pulled it behind a tree and scolded it and I snapped this quick shot.” Photo by Lina Staudt. Sony Alpha 6000. Sony 18-105mm f/4 G. 1/640-sec., f/4, ISO 160
Power Bank: The power bank allows me to keep my phone charged while I’m out exploring and being able to share the new places I visit with my instagram followers.
Travel Challenges: I love having these around for when I’m traveling and want to experience something new I wouldn’t have thought of myself.
