Capturing Everyday Moments In This Week’s Street Photography Follow Friday

Street photography combines photojournalism and fine art to create candid captures of all that’s happening out there. Keeping up with the fast pace of busy streets means being in the right place, ready to react with your camera – and that’s not always easy. This week we're featuring a group of street photographers who have an eye for what’s happening and are ready to capture it with their Sony Alpha cameras and lenses. Take a look at their work and give them a follow. If you want the chance for your account to be featured on AlphaUniverse.com, make sure you tag your Sony photography posts with #BeAlpha. And don’t forget to follow @sonyalpha for your daily dose of Sony photo inspiration.

See how this group of street photographers have an eye for what’s happening & stay ready to capture it with their cameras (including the new Sony Alpha 7C).

Mic-Anthony Hay – @micanthony_

Mic-Anthony is a travel and adventure photographer and videographer and a member of the Alpha Collective. He thrives on discovering and exploring new places, all while capturing the raw moments with his camera to share with others. Watch this video to learn more about his thoughts on the power of sharing authentic moments. He also had the opportunity to take the new Sony Alpha α7C for a test spin, and he took this shot with it in New York City’s Washington Square Park.

Paola Franqui – @monaris_

Paola is a street photographer and another member of the Alpha Collective. Her candids are often simple, but still manage to capture the complexity and diversity of humans in the everyday. Learn more street photography tips from Paola in her videos - How To Use Silent Shutter Mode To Create Stunning Street Photography, Get Sharp Street Photography Portraits With Eye AF and Street Photography Pro Tip: How To Use Reflections. She had a chance to try out the new Sony Alpha α7C, and she used it to take the shot below.

Steven Irby – @stevesweatpants

Steven is a NYC-based creator and member of the Alpha Collective. As you’ll see on his Instagram, he creates black and white street images, and his authentic style makes his photos extra intriguing. Learn more about the gear he uses to create this documentary-style black and white street photography in his What’s In My Bag article.

Adrian – @adrian_vgo

Adrian is a street, cityscape, urban and creative photographer. His moody photography images, often catching people walking with umbrellas in the rain, put you directly on the streets of Liverpool and London, two cities he bounces between. He definitely has an eye for artistically catching moments in time, like this reflection shot he took in London using his Sony α7 III.

Jay Martin – @jay_shoots_streets_

Jay Martin is a NYC/NJ-based street photographer who has some great shots around the city taken with his Sony RX100 V. His street photography ranges from close-ups to wide shots that incorporate NYC’s beautiful architecture. He even snaps a few shots of the cute pups he comes across on their walks. He took the shot below on the Williamsburg Bridge.
