Instagram Fall Color Follow Friday

Nothing seems to signify autumn more than the leaves changing color, so this week we're featuring a group of photographers capturing those colorful landscapes of the season. Check out these beautiful fall photos and give each account a follow. Then make sure you tag your own Sony shots on Instagram with #BeAlpha for the chance to be featured on AlphaUniverse.com, and give @sonyalpha a follow for your daily dose of creative inspiration.

Scott Wesson – @thetravelvibe

Scott is a member of the Alpha Imaging Collective who is always up for travel, capturing impressive landscapes wherever he goes. About a month ago he captured this shot in a small town in the middle of Ukraine with the Sony 16-35mm f/4 lens and Sony α7R III, and we’re so glad he did! The dreamy fall colors form a tunnel around the railway, an attraction called the Tunnel of Love. Scroll through his photos for a true glimpse into a Sony photographer who is choosing to #BeAlpha.

Jason Frankle – @worldpins

Jason is based in Los Angeles, California and another member of the #AlphaCollective. He captures a great variety of colorful landscape shots of his favorite places that he has visited around the world, which he calls “worldpins” (hence his IG handle). He grabbed this shot below of the fall colors in West Virginia – just beautiful!

Mitch McPherson – @mavic_mitch

Mitch is a Sony Alpha shooter based in St. Louis who specializes in landscape, product, portrait and sports photography. He took this gorgeous long exposure shot below at Bond Falls in Michigan with the Sony α9 and says, “Long Exposure photography is arguably the most satisfying form of photography. Waiting for minutes that feel like hours for the image to capture and process in camera, and hoping that the image comes out just as you envisioned it. Most of the time the actual images exceed my expectations entirely! You see, it’s not as simple as setting a low shutter speed and putting an ND filter and snapping the shot. I spent close to an hour perfecting this shot.. waiting for the wind to subside so that the trees would remain still. Lining up the perfect composition. Dialing in the perfect settings to get the best image possible, and taking the image an extra 5-10 times (just in case). It’s all worth it in the end, when you go home with a beauty like this!” Check out his account for more.

Nate Dodge – @nate_dodge

Nate is an adventure photographer and filmmaker based in Colorado. He took this shot below using his Sony 70-200mm f/4 G lens and the Sony α7 III, and that’s not the only epic fall landscape photo posted on his account. You’ll find a myriad of beautiful scenes, some from far above (he’s a commercial drone pilot!) – so go give him a follow for more of nature’s beauty in your feed.

Francisco Santiago – @francisco_santiago85

Francisco is a Sony photographer and a doctor living in Cancun. He posts lively landscapes, portraits and architecture photos on his account, with the Sony α7 III as his camera of choice. He took this stunning fall landscape photo in Boston.
