Now that we’ve hit the end of another week, it’s time for an Instagram Follow Friday – our weekly series highlighting some of our favorite photography accounts on the platform. This week you’ll find plenty of Sony Alpha shooters with a clear sense of adventure, including a few Alpha Collective members on the AICdoesScotland trip (which you can also follow on Instagram at #AICdoesScotland) and another one of the inspiring Sony Artisan Of Imagery and Alpha Female program mentors.

Cath Simard - @cathsimard

Cath is a member of the Sony Alpha Imaging Collective and resides in Quebec. She likes to get out in the mountains and her account is filled with beautiful captures of peaks from all over the world. The thoughtful text she posts perfectly complements her brilliant nature photos and serves as an inspiration for all of us wanting to trot the globe. She was one of the 10 Alpha Collective members on the #AICdoesScotland trip, so check her out to follow along!

Matthew Clark - @mattic112

Matthew’s use of light in his photos is what makes his account stand out. Beautiful starbursts from the sun, streaking patterns from city lights and hazy glows from the stars and moon make for a beautifully curated profile. When it comes to capturing sunsets, Matthew says, “A technique I’ve implemented shooting sunsets is to always expose for the sky, even if the foreground subject appears to be completely underexposed. The amount of dynamic range that the alpha series offers, makes it very easy to lift foreground shadows in post and bring the whole composition to life."

Eric Ward - @littlecoal

Eric is also a member of the Alpha Collective recently on the #AICdoesScotland trip. His account boasts rather simplistic photos, often of nature, that allow you to focus on the incredible details we might not otherwise notice. This account is one that’s just fun to look at again and again.

Autumn Schrock - @autpops

Autumn is a photographer based in Seattle, WA. On her account, you’ll find a wide array of stunning nature shots paired with words that will motivate you to explore more. She is also a registered yoga teacher, so be sure to take a scroll through her posts to see if you can spot her posing in any of them!

Me Ra Koh - @merakoh

Me Ra is a Sony Artisan and mentor for the Sony Alpha Female program. Her account features a #biggerstoryseries, where she posts a series of photos along with a compelling story that’s sure to make you stop and think. She’s nationally recognized as The Photo Mom and is known for her creativity and dedication to empowering women. Give her a follow to continue to be inspired.
