Timelapse photography is used in television, commercials, film, social media and more. It's been around for a long time, but hasn’t always been as accessible or as popular as it is now. Sony Artisan Of Imagery Drew Geraci has over a decade of experience shooting timelapse professionally, having worked on films with big name directors like Steven Spielberg and David Fincher. In Episode 1 of a new series, "Reframed With Drew Geraci," he will show you not only how to shoot a cinematic timelapse, but also how to plan, compose and process your final shots using your mirrorless camera and laptop.
In Episode 1 of “Reframed With Drew Geraci,” professional timelapse photographer and Sony Artisan Drew Geraci shows you how to shoot a cinematic timelapse, and also how to plan, compose and process your final shots.
“Before you even start shooting, the first thing you want to do is you want to go out and scout your locations,” Geraci says. “Location scouting is really important because it allows you to see what you’re going to shoot beforehand. There are a lot of different elements that can really ruin your timelapse – people, cars, wildlife – all those things can become a factor.”
