Lately, there has been a resurgence of black and white photography. Whether it be for a taste of nostalgia, an artistic choice or an emotive tool, photographing black and white images is its own beast. One almost has to train their eyes to see the world in a different way. We’ve rounded up some YouTube videos of Sony shooters sharing how they photograph in black and white. Sam Bassett is a London-based content creator behind the Optical Wander YouTube Channel. In the video below he shares a POV-style street photography focusing on taking black and white images. Sam is using the Sony Alpha 7 III and the Sony 50mm f/1.8. We love how he talks through his ideas as he’s taking the images, it helps the viewer learn more about his composition techniques.

David Flower - @DavidFlowerOfficial

David Flower is a photographer from Yorkshire focusing on all kinds of photography including street, landscape, automotive and astrophotography. In the video below he takes his viewers along with him on a street photography walk. He used the Sony Alpha 7S and Sony 50mm f/1.8 and he had his camera set on the monochrome profile. It’s great fun to see the world through his eyes!
