Seeing Double: See How These Photographers Get Creative With 2 Of The Same In A Single Frame

In the world of photography, creativity knows no bounds, and sometimes the most captivating images come from seeing double. Below we take a peek through the creative lenses of a group of  photographers capture multiples of the same subject in a single frame. Whether through clever compositions, reflections or digital manipulation, these photographers showcase their ability to transform ordinary scenes into extraordinary visual narratives. Explore the innovative approaches these talented photographers use to play with perception and redefine the boundaries of visual storytelling. Double exposures, reflections, a wildlife face-off and twin portraits – this week we’re seeing double through the lenses of a creative cadre of photographers.

Tiffany Nguyen – @tiffpenguin

Tiffany Nguyen is a talented photographer and Sony Alpha Ambassador. In her post below, she uses the new Sony 85mm f/1.4 G Master II to create portraits of twins. “I tested this new lens out with my Sony Alpha 1 at #SonyKandoTrip and had a fun shoot with the @paguintotwins. This lens is more compact and lightweight than the previous generation and the optics are ultra sharp with buttery smooth bokeh.” Check out the colorful shots and add the Sony 85mm f/1.4 G Master II to cart HERE.

Monaris – @monaris_

Photographer and Sony Alpha Ambassador Monaris focuses on capturing the fleeting moments of everyday life, with many of her posts shot around the streets of New York City. We love this multi-dimensional shot she took using her Sony Alpha 1 and Sony 85mm f/1.8 lens, at 1/800-sec., f/4, ISO 1000. Follow her to see how she creatively captures street photography with her Sony cameras.

Caroline Jensen – @carolinej

Sony Artisan and flower farmer Caroline Jensen’s Instagram account is filled with colorful and painterly images of florals. Using her Sony Alpha 7R V, she captures stunning setups of flowers like the two tulips in the image below. Andy Mann – @andy_mann

Sony Artisan Andy Mann is an environmental photographer and filmmaker who works in ocean conservation. He posted this pair of critically endangered Mediterranean Monk Seals caught in a tender moment of play with his Sony Alpha 1 and Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master. “The Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus), is the sole member of the genus Monachus, and one of two surviving species of monk seals on the planet. With an estimated 30 individuals remaining within the remote North Atlantic islands of Madeira and Las Desertas, I’ve been working on a meaningful project to shine a light on these beautiful marine mammals and the committed caretakers of this special population.” Learn more about the gear he uses for his work in What's In My Bag: A Conservation Storyteller's Run-&-Gun Kit For Photo & Video.

Sarah Liao – @sarliao

Photographer, videographer and creative storyteller Sarah Liao created this reflection shot at the Pismo Dunes in San Luis Obispo using her Sony Alpha 7 IV and Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master OSS II. “While thinking of this photo, I wanted to capture something ethereal, because the dunes have such an alluring beauty to them,” she explains. “While editing, I originally thought the photo looked too plain, but suddenly thought of ‘The Creation of Adam’ and ended up just mirroring the image in post. Sometimes you may think a photo looks boring, but you can enliven it with so many ways - cropping, playing around in Photoshop, extracting color, etc. Photography is an art and there is so much possibility to play around with while both shooting and editing!”

Nate Mullins – @iamnatemullins

Travel content creator Nate Mullins snapped this shot in Yellowstone National Park with no time to mount his Sony Alpha 7CR on a tripod. “I knew I needed to freeze the action of the battle between these bison, and used a 1/2000-sec shutter speed and f/2.8 aperture to ensure sharpness. The AI detection of animal subjects and their eyes in the Alpha 7CR, with the speed of the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 G Master OSS II lens, is my favorite combination in my current setup. The 200mm telephoto lens kept me at a safe distance while delivering a crisp handheld shot using the OSS feature.” Follow him to see what he captures on his next travel journey.

Felgra Yogatama – @felgra_photography

Professional travel and landscape photographer Felgra Yogatama uses his Sony Alpha 7 IV to capture stunning landscapes and other scenes around the world. In the image below taken in Indonesia, he captures the Srikandi and Mustokoweni dance. “The Srikandi and Mustokoweni dance is a traditional Javanese dance that originates from Indonesia, specifically from the cultural traditions of Java. This dance often depicts episodes from the Mahabharata, an ancient Indian epic that has been deeply integrated into Javanese culture.” Read more in his post caption and follow him for more interesting travel photography.

Andrew Ling – @andrewling

Travel photographer Andrew Ling took this adorable double penguin shot with his Sony Alpha 7R IV and Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G Master. He says, “Antarctica. A surreal, almost alien-like landscape with nothing but ice spanning for thousands of miles at a time. Sculpted by the forces of nature, into one of the most beautiful places in the world. Last season, I spent 40 days in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica documenting the White Continent. To get this shot, we flew three hours to reach the edge of the continent by a modified Basler BT-67 plane, to see these young Emperor Penguins before they headed back out to sea for the season.” Follow him to see what he photographs on his next expedition.

Andrew – @aswalls

Andrew is a part-time photographer and Ducati owner who captures the speed and sharpness of motorcycles. He took this night shot of a BMW S1000RR Race and a Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 using his Sony Alpha 7R V and Sony 135mm f/1.8 G Master.

Sondre Eriksen Hensema – @itseriksen

Photographer and videographer Sondre Eriksen Hensema is based in Norway where he uses the beautiful landscape of the region to his advantage. He took this shot of two lynx with his Sony Alpha 1 and Sony 400mm f/2.8 G Master.
