If you’re a content creator, vlogger, or you just loves making videos – you need to check out the Sony ZV family of cameras. In this video, YouTuber and Sony Artisan Miguel Quiles dives into three unique features that make these cameras stand out from the other options. Whether you’re showing off products or capturing beautiful talking-head footage, these cameras are tailor-made to make it quick and easy to create professional videos. Watch below and check out our Vlogging page for more.
1. Product Showcase
The first feature Quiles notes is the Product Showcase Feature – a popular one for vloggers that makes highlighting products in your videos as easy as pushing a button. You’ve probably seen vloggers try to show a product to the camera before, and the camera wants to focus on their face instead of the product. Sure, you can try to cover your eyes with your hands to get the camera to focus on your eyes, but with the ZV lineup, you don’t have to. “You simply press the Product Showcase button on the camera,” Quiles explains, “and now the camera instantly switches focus to the product without any fuss or delay. There’s no need for hand tricks.” This feature keeps your videos looking polished and professional.
2. Bokeh Button
If you’re filming in a busy environment or somewhere with a less-than-ideal backdrop, there’s an easy way to get that beautiful cinematic background blur to make yourself pop in the frame. “Normally, you would have to manually adjust your aperture or switch lenses to get that effect,” says Quiles, but with the ZV series of cameras, Sony made it super easy. Just like the Product Showcase feature, you simply press the Bokeh button, and the camera automatically adjusts all of your settings to blur out the background as much as possible. What’s cool with this feature is that it prioritizes the exposure on your face, so when you’re vlogging or creating content, it’s going to also tune the exposure that’s made by the wider aperture and it’s going to keep you from being over-exposed.” Another feature that saves you time and gives you a professional look at the press of a button.
3. 3-Capsule Mic
If you’re a video creator, you know that audio is just as important, if not more important, than the video quality itself. The built-in microphones found in the ZV series ensure you’re covered. While many built-in microphones are hit or miss because they capture audio from all directions, the ZV series has a 3-Capsule Microphone that’s directional. “Meaning that it’s great at capturing sound that’s coming from the front of the camera, while reducing background noise from the sides of the back of the camera. With some of the newer ZV cameras like the ZV-1 that I’m using right now, you can choose the pick-up pattern right in the camera menu. Each individual microphone capsule on these ZV cameras are much larger than most other cameras, which helps to give you some of the best-sounding audio that you can get outside of adding an additional microphone to your setup.
