Instagram Follow Friday November 9, 2018

You made it to Friday, and we’re excited to share another group of Instagram accounts that we just can’t stop scrolling through. This week’s featured photographers are living the Be Alpha life. We're showcasing a group of three photographers currently traveling down the California coast to capture all 38 public piers with Sony α7R III cameras and 24mm f/1.4 G Master lenses, a Sony Artisan Of Imagery whose portrait posts include tips to improve your own photography, two Alpha Imaging Collective members whose Instagram accounts are filled with their most recent travels and two more inspiring photographers getting outside and exploring nature.

Once you've followed this group of photographers, make sure you're also following @sonyalpha for more #BeAlpha shots every day. Tag your own posts with #BeAlpha for your chance to be featured!

This week's Alpha Universe Follow Friday roundup includes a trio of Sony Alpha photographers documenting parts of the CA coast, tips from a portrait pro & glimpses at landscapes around the world.

Eric Rubens - @erubes1, Garrett King - @shortstache & Cas Sheridan - @cassheridan

Eric Rubens (@erubes1), Garrett King (@shortstache) and Cas Sheridan (@cassheridan) just set out on a unique trip to capture the historic piers of California’s coastline. They will be on the road for nine days and plan to capture all 38 public piers from San Diego to Crescent City, where you can find some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. Follow along on their journey at #BeyondThePier

Theresa McCollom – @theresa_mccollom_

Theresa specializes in travel, portrait and astrophotography and is based in Washington. Her account boasts beautiful shots of her explorations in the Pacific Northwest. The 15-stop dynamic range of her Sony α7 III comes through in her images that capture every color and detail, making you feel like you’re there. She also posts great Instagram stories so you can follow along on her adventures.

Gregg Jaden – @gjaden

Gregg is a member of the Sony Alpha Imaging Collective who is all about travel, film and adventure. His photos, taken with his Sony α7R III, share interesting perspectives of his travels and are accompanied by great storytelling and thought-provoking captions. He does a great job of conveying how valuable travel has been to his life, and his photos aim to get others to realize that value too.

Chris Crocco – @crocpixels

Chris is, as his Instagram bio says, a traveler and a wanderer. The photos on his account give stunning front row views to some of the most gorgeous places in the world. Dreamy, cloudy skies and tumbling waterfalls appear to be his specialty. You’ll even see the occasional cameo from his adorable pup Penny, and who wouldn’t love that!? This photo below was taken with his Sony α7 III.

Renee Hahnel – @reneeroaming

Renee is an #AlphaCollective member, and another one of our featured accounts this week out of the state of Washington. An Aussie based in Seattle and full-time travel photographer and blogger, her handle @reneeroaming is a perfect fit. She mainly likes to use her Sony α7R III mirrorless camera and Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 and Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master lenses to document her adventures, one of the latest being on the #AICdoesScotland trip. Follow her to share in her love for travel, nature and storytelling.

Scott Robert Lim – @scottrobertlim

Sony Artisan  Scott Robert Lim is an award-winning photographer, and his Instagram account gives us a glimpse into his incredible portrait work. He’s also a teacher and mentor to many professional photographers, and with each Instagram post he provides some insight into how he was able to capture the shot or some advice on excelling in the industry. His account is one you don’t want to forget about, so give him a follow and soak in some of his free advice!
