Sony Artisan of Imagery Gary Hart has photographed nature’s beauty—large and small, rain or shine, night and day—for nearly 40 years. Most of his lightning-strike photos are taken at the Grand Canyon, but he got lucky a few years ago in Yosemite and managed to capture this photo of a strike hitting half dome at Glacier Point. He has a real knack for photographing vast landscapes all over the world, and he recently shared an awesome photo trip guide for New Zealand. When Mike hears of a big storm he gets in the car and goes after it, and you’ll see the insane results as you look through his account. The crazy cloud formations and intense lightning bolts he manages to capture will make you thankful that you can view them safely from the comfort of your own phone. He just recently captured this image of lightning in the Rincon Mountains with his Sony α7R III.
