This week we’re featuring a group of Sony photographers capturing the bright lights of big cities. Capturing the seductive colors and contrasts of a nighttime cityscape isn’t the easiest thing to do photographically and these creators are taking advantage of the low-light capabilities and image quality of their Sony Alpha cameras and lenses to push boundaries and create new perspectives. Check out their work and give them a follow. Tag your own Sony photos on Instagram with #BeAlpha for the chance to be featured on AlphaUniverse.com, and give @sonyalpha a follow for your daily dose of creative inspiration.

And he’s not letting that view go to waste one bit – he’s creating a 30-year timelapse of NYC using the Sony α7S. Each day he posts a timelapse of the city to Instagram and it’s fascinating to see the energy of the city from afar. If you aren’t already following this project, do it now. Just this week he celebrated 1,500 days of continuous timelapse – talk about commitment!

We just love this photo taken in the heart of the Big Apple and how it shows both the beauty and busy you can find in a city. The contrast between the calming sky and the coruscating city lights makes for an incredibly captivating image.
