See What These Photographers & Filmmakers Are Doing With The New α7S III

Earlier this week Sony announced the α7S III, a 4K video and low light masterpiece equipped with new features that provide unparalleled creative freedom. In this week’s Instagram Follow Friday, we’re featuring a group of photographers and filmmakers who were given the opportunity to take the new camera for a pre-announcement test spin. See what they created below and learn more about Sony’s newest mirrorless Alpha camera on AlphaUniverse.com.

120p, unheard of ISOs & more...see what these photographers and filmmakers are posting on Instagram after taking the new α7S III for a test spin.

Tiffany Nguyen – @tiffpenguin

Tiffany is a Los Angeles-based travel photographer and member of the Alpha Imaging Collective. She took this beautiful astro image with the new α7S III and Sony 50mm f/1.4 and said, “It’s an incredible feeling to be able to step into complete darkness and confidently capture a scene you can’t even see with the naked eye. This camera has given me a new perspective by opening my eyes to the entire world of astrophotography and all of the amazing things that you can capture in the night sky.”

Tobi Shinobi – @tobishinobi

Tobi Shinobi is an international photographer and videographer based between London and Chicago and another member of the Alpha Collective. He had the chance to use the camera to shoot music footage and said, “This one’s for the storytellers, the creators and the ones strive for more. The α7S III camera of legend is now here and I got to experience it first hand.”

Chris Burkard – @chrisburkard

Sony Artisan Chris Burkard had the opportunity to test the new camera in Alaska. He took this shot of the glacier blue pools that he’s always wanted to capture and said, “Was grateful to test this camera in some of the harshest conditions you can find in Alaska chasing my dream shot of the illusive ‘Blue Pools’. Stoked for everyone to check out this new rig & its incredible feature set from low light to slow-mo video.”

Curt Morgan – @curtismorgan

Filmmaker Curt Morgan had the chance to create and direct “The Way Forward” using the new α7S III and said, “This camera wasn’t just innovation for innovation’s sake, you can feel the passion that Sony put into crafting every micron of this tool. After spending over a month with the cameras I can honestly say that there are many instances that I would use it over a cinema camera that costs 20 times the price. It’s an absolute beast that I want to become better friends with over the coming years.” Watch the video and read more about the making behind “The Way Forward” here.

Sara Dietschy – @saradietschy

Sara is another YouTube reviewer and after trying out the new Sony α7S III she says she will be, “forever be shooting everything in 4K 120fps and 1080 240fps.” She’s insanely excited about the new camera that she calls “future-proofed.” Watch the video below to see some of the footage she captured while testing it out.
