Women's History Month Follow Friday, Part 4

For Women’s History Month, we’ve been utilizing our “Follow Friday” segment each week to feature a new group of inspiring female creators. Take a look at this week’s group of Alpha Females and follow their Instagram accounts to see more of their impressive work. March is Women’s History Month and in our final of the series, we’re featuring female photographers who are leading the way in the industry.

Gabriella Morton – @gabriellamorton

Gabriella Morton is a New Zealand-based photographer who believes the most powerful form of communication is bridging the gap between art and important messages like science, philosophy and our environment. By intertwining the two, she hopes to contribute to a strong narrative that ultimately leads toward a more sustainable future. She is exposed to a wide variety of subject matter through her freelance work, but the wonder of the natural world is the main thing that motivates her. Katrin Eismann – @katrin_eismann

Katrin Eismann is an artist, author, educator and photographer who specializes in interpretive travel, still life and portrait photography. The Sony Artisan has so much passion for her work and as her Instagram bio says, she’s “a little tall and a lot enthusiastic!” Most recently she’s been posting photos in a series called “Duality of Vision,” a photographic project by Eismann and @john_jmac_mcintosh sharing the contrasting points of view of the same scene or location. Ashley Noel – @nyroamer

Ashley is a member of the Alpha Collective, and as her Instagram handle suggests, likes to roam New York City with her Sony Alpha gear. She captures scenes on the streets of the Big Apple or whichever city she happens to be traveling to at the time. On her Instagram account you’ll find a variety of street photography, both in black and white and color. Follow her to see more candid captures of moments in the city.

Diana Ardelean – @diana_ardelean_photography

Diana Ardelean is a multi-disciplinary artist with a lifelong background in fashion design, specialized in bridal and evening wear, painting and photography. She creates challenging composite series that feature herself wearing costumes that she designed, pushing her emotional and physical boundaries by becoming both the subject matter and the materiality. She creates these dreamy, fine art self portraits using her Sony α6300. 

Me Ra Koh – @merakoh

Me Ra Koh is a Sony Artisan, renowned portrait photographer and master storyteller who has been inspiring families for 20 years through her work. She is passionate about using her photography to help build stronger families and connection. She works hard to discover what means most to the families she photographs so they can shine through their portraits and enjoy everyday in their home. She’s had features on Oprah, Live With Kelly & Ryan, and Capture the Story With Me Ra Koh on Disney. Follow her Instagram account to see more of her beautiful portraiture.

Shravya Kag – @shravyakag

Shravya Kag is a photo and video documentarian based in Brooklyn, New York. Her work is an exploration of home, identity, and personal space and her work has been published in The New York Times, Vogue, WWD, Fast Company, Tribeca Film Festival and more. She won an Alpha Female+ Grant for her project, "The International Express," where she documented life along the winding route that the 7 Train takes through New York for several weeks. Kathy Dyer – @kathryn_dyer

Kathryn Dyer is a California-based photographer and member of the Alpha Collective. She uses natural lighting to capture dreamy shots of nature. Whether it be the sun’s rays shining through the branches of a dense forest or bouncing off the ocean’s waters, her photos combined with her captions provide an inspirational outlook and make you want to get outside. Chrissy Donadi – @chrissydonadiphotography

Chrissy Donadi is a travel, nature and landscape photographer. Photography started as a hobby for her and quickly became so much of a passion that she turned it into her profession. On her Instagram account you’ll find a variety of work that includes long exposure landscapes and colorful macro photos. Follow her to see which stunning outdoor scene she captures next. 

Taylor Rees – @taylorfreesolo

Taylor Rees is an adventure filmmaker, photographer and Sony Artisan. She travels to different parts of the world telling stories she finds important. Her Instagram account provides the perfect snapshot of her work, while teaching her audience about these critical issues. She’s an excellent storyteller with intriguing photos and educational captions, follow her for more eye-opening stories from around the world in your feed. 

Renee Hahnel – @reneeroaming

Renee Hahnel, an Aussie based in Seattle, is a photographer, blogger and member of the Alpha Collective. Her brand, Renee Roaming, inspires millions of travelers to live intentionally, place value on experiences over possessions, and to find joy exploring this beautiful world we call home. On her Instagram you’ll find colorful photos and videos that show the stunning views from her travel adventures. Whether it be snowshoeing in Washington or hiking in Iceland, keep  up with her fun experiences in the great outdoors by giving her account a follow. 

SJ Alice Bennett – @sj.alice.bennett

SJ Alice Bennett is a freelance photographer and graphic designer specializing in underwater cave, lifestyle, event and documentary photography, as well as supporting businesses with branding and marketing solutions in addition to print and event graphics. She’s lived and worked around the globe collaborating with companies to bring their ideas to life all while staying close to and following her passion for the underwater world. Victoria Siemer – @victoriasiemer

Victoria Siemer is a member of the Alpha Collective who combines her photography with a unique design style that results in thought-provoking, otherworldly creations. Using varying photos taken with her Sony gear, she manipulates the different layers together to create a new work of art. She posted this creation at the end of 2020, taken with her Sony α7R II and Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master, with a message I think we all can all agree is fitting to say about that year.

Maureen Denny – @maureendenny

Maureen Denny is a nature and conceptual art photographer. She finds creative ways to include landscapes into her altered pixels works. She found photography in her late 50s and fully dove in after retiring in 2019. Her images are a collection of self-portraits that delves deep into the wonder of imagination, and she really began exploring this journey as a part of #WhiteWallWednesdayPortraits with Sony Artisan Brooke Shaden. She created the shot below using her Sony α7 IIII and Sony 24-70mm f/4 lens.

Laura Visconti – @lauralawsonvisconti

Laura Lawson Visconti is a photographer, travel writer, content creator and member of the Alpha Collective based in Lake Tahoe. She’s also the founder of a specialty coffee roastery called @drinkcoffeedostuff. On her Instagram she posts awesome travel photos that display some of the beautiful scenes she comes across and incredible experiences she has. Follow her to see what she’s up to next! 

Marti Gutfreund – @enchanted.forest, @sukiicat  

Marti Gutfreund is a travel and lifestyle photographer and member of the Alpha Collective.
